The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. The company considered North America as a growth market for Washlet bidet seats and toilets, in contrast to its "base" markets of Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto recorded Toto words so that the next generation could understand them. Many words were replaced with foreign words. For example dui, which is Bengali for verandah, was being used.
Origins
Toto's early history that began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's economic expansion. In the beginning, Toto manufactured goods to meet the demand for modern, contemporary urban housing. It was the first tunnel kiln in the country to produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, which allows for greater efficiency and consistency.

The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. The company established the Cera Trading Company to import and distribute other manufacturers' products to expand its line of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and increased the company's market share.
In the 1990s, Toto began focusing on research and development of water-related appliances. It also improved its distribution system to better meet the needs of its customers and increase profits. The company employed the same just-in-time approach to its supply chain management as well as sales program. This resulted in a greater level of satisfaction of customers.
Toto has been able to continue to innovate with regard to toilet technology. The latest toilet from the company features an environmentally friendly, powerful tornado flush. The company also uses recycled water in its production process and has a green procurement policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs and hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than standard models.
The first museum of the company opened in 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's seminal products and their evolution as well as its group companies (all having to do with ceramics) and the history of plumbing and products such as bath units and, in a different gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum also includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet as well as other toilet-related innovations.
Before forming Toto members of the group performed session work for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also performed on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
With a name as evocative as Asia, you would think that the group would be prog kings and queens - but it's actually a pretty straight forward rock group. The band was initially four members and released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. The group has a wide musical background, but their biggest success was in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a massive blockbuster, but it was not without its issues. The record companies put the band under pressure to deliver the top single or they would rescind the album. Toto was able to do this through the aid of the hit song "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is a result of their previous experiences. Before joining the group, the members were session musicians for artists like Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and Crofts. Their distinctive sound has become the standard of 1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.
The album opens with a strong and pounding sound with songs like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write fantastic AOR songs that slowly get their hooks into your mind. The album also contains jazzier, slower tracks like The Little Things and Chinatown. And the album ends with Great Expectations, a song that mixes folk with distortion AOR and could sound totally wrong, but is incredibly effective.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to wane. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career and the band had to go through several drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the group in the after he was charged with drug abuse. the band continued as a trio with Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the turmoil, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation that was not as successful as IV. However, the band still was able to release a chart-topping album in the year 1992 with Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

The more edgy sound of the album was indicative of the maturation of group, with drummer Bobby Kimball's greater proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloying than previously recorded recordings.
After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live show that was released by Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. The group released a brand new studio album a few months after and embarked on a world tour to promote it. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that had never been recorded before. 토토사이트 모음 was released in the form of a double-album called Then And Now in 2001. It was the band's first album that did not contain one single track titled "A". The album also included a previously unreleased track "Kari-Anne".
By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was a commercial failure and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that restricted his singing capabilities. Additionally, Hungate returned to Nashville and drummer Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.
Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia were in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be revived. This lineup, minus Howe (who was a member of Yes at the time) was eventually referred to as Toto XIV and toured extensively.
In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin.
